January

Tuesday 24

Inspired by all the great music and musicians on the Delbert McClinton Sandy Beaches Blues Cruise (www.delbert.com),  we're preparing a bunch of new tunes for Blackeyed Sallys on Feb 11th.  Get ready to hear tunes by some great songwriters and be prepared to get sweaty on the dance floor.

Tuesday 17

Just returned from the Delbert McClinton and Friends Sandy Beaches Cruise.  A week of non-stop music... basically a family reunion of Texas, Nashville, New Orleans (and a few other) musicians, singers, songwriters, and the indescribable Fred Eaglesmith.  The sheer amount of talent on the ship exceeded all expectations.

The performers were:  Delbert McClinton, "Big Al"  Anderson, Marcia Ball, Matraca Berg, Big Joe Maher, Chuck Cannon, Bruce "Hey Baby" Channel, Nick Connolly, Bob DiPiero, Fred Eaglesmith, Joe Ely, Danny Flowers, Donnie Fritts, Jimmy Hall, Tom Hambridge, Teresa James & the Rhythm Tramps, J.T. Lauritsen, Eric Lindell, Colin Linden, Raul Malo, Clay McClinton, The McCrary Sisters, Mingo Fishtrap, Jonell Mosser, Danny Myrick, Gary Nicholson, Spooner Oldham, Lee Roy Parnell, Gretchen Peters, Kimmie Rhodes, Jill Sobule, Paul Thorn, Wayne Toups & Zydecajun, Seth Walker, Kevin Welch, Lari White, Mike Zito & Miles Zuniga.  Check 'em out!

AND YES we did get to sit in on a few jams here and there.

Next year is rumored to be the last cruise.  It will be from January 5-12, out of Ft Lauderdale, FL.
Our advice...  DON'T MISS IT.

December

Tuesday 6

It was a family affair... our first.  Las Vegas was cold and overcast, with a mini-sandstorm and some rain but it didn't dampen our spirits.  John has been music director for The NASCAR Award Banquet for years.  Bev joined the event singing for the pre-show about 5 years ago.  Gabe was added to the house band roster on trombone last year.  AND this year we brought Liza on to share the singing.  All 4 of us on an official gig... priceless!!

Tuesday 6

Bellator Fighting Tournament Season is over.  So John is off the road.  Deejaying the mixed martial arts events in arenas and casinos around the country has kept John busy, most weekends.  With the exception of  a short break during the summer,  it's meant fewer gigs for the Colbys.  Now that the season is over you should be seeing us around more often.
